To where you sent your 485 package. I recommend to utilize services of Attorney - primarily because they attach their cover letter with their letterhead which could make some difference

not sure about I-140, i think it should be ok to mention your spouse name but check with your immigration lawyer about this.
NOTE: as far as i know, if your wife is in H4 visa, you can file her AOS (I-485) as your spouse. But if she is in F1 visa, you CANNOT file her I-485 as your dependent along with your I-485 since she is in F1 student visa. but check with your immigration lawyer about this..

In our 485 notices, Under the section, it is stated as Unknown. priority date is blank. Please let me know if anyone is facing similar situation and what needs to be done to correct it?

It will be great if any IV Guru can shed some light.
I am currently on EAD working to company B after invoking AC21 for past 1 year. Thinking of starting GC processing with current company.
So I asked my old company A to give me a copy of my approved I-140. He sent me a courtesy copy. Since i read in forums that copy of the original not courtesy is required, I sent a mail to Lawyer CC'ing my old company and I got a reply from the lawyer that he did not pay the lawyer fee. OfCourse like any desi company my old company collected lawyer fee from me. I am sure he will not pay it and already he stuck me in EB3 after promising EB2. SO I am pondering on my options.
Does any one know if I can use the courtesy copy of I-140 to proceed with my new GC process?
I read from one other forum I can use FOIA(Freedom of Information Act) and get a copy of I-140, but it will take minimum of 8 months.

1..I would like to know if an employer revokes 140, and if the AC21 is not submitted at the time of NOID...how many days are given by USCIS?
Is it 30 days?
2..If I go to another emplyer and try to do interfile, still I need to file AC21?
And if the new category is EB2(my old application is EB3), still is that ok?
For eg..EB3 title is system analyst, and if I want to go for Eb2 then which could be more apprepriate..?Senior SYSTEM ANALYST

Good thing is after 6 months of EAD ,change the jobs. So the new additional income added to your pot can be used to pay INS if there are any annual renewals till you get the GC.
INS will have atleast 200-300K 485 Applicaitons from Indians and equivalent from chinese, Mexico by July 31'st.
So INS will have a good beer party with Billions of Dollars and fixed royalty income from renewals from the potbellys of Indians, chinese,mexicans. This is a ballgame in no mans land.

If your processing date is current, if your PD is current, and if you are name check is cleared, they most likely be processing or processed your case.
If your processing date is current, if your PD is current, but if you are name check is not cleared, and so as per new rule, they will process your case in a month or so.
If your processing date is current, but if your PD is not current, but if you are name check is cleared, most probably they will pre-adjudicate your case. So the day your PD becomes current, you will get your GC. In this case if your NC is not cleared, you have to wait another month as long as you are above 180days of NC waiting...

I have a request / concern / what ever you would say.
Please do not cirtize if you do not like the idea, just ignore and leave the thread.
There are so many people comming to IV for other experts guidance on different things mainly on H1B status, AC21 status, AP, FP, EAD and H4 to EAD, .....
Why don't you create a general guide lines or rules or do's and don't or QA's for each topic, so that each member or visitor who come to IV can atleast go through them before asking or posting quesitons.
You can create a survery for different kinds of questions people / members / visitors might ask or have fore each topic before creating the thread so that we can have a pool of questions and answers for each topic from experts or attorney answered. (you might say we have recordings from attorney Prashanti Reddy, but it would be good if we have some thing which can be referred easily i.e., typed.
These are just some of my thoughts, it can or cannot be implemented. It depeneds on IV admins/Gurus/Experts on this forum.
Gurus, please provide your thoughts.

Last year CIR expired. Yes, senate must pass its own version of the bill. It could be that it will be a very similar to CIR from last year. If only house passes its own bill, and no senate bill is passed, there is no new law. Both chambers must act in order to create a new binding law.

Hello, I am on the same boat... kinda...
I submitted the application with supporting doc paper base on June 2 and they receieved and signed the package on June 7 to NSC
Til today check was not cashed. I called the service center and the lady told me to wait til July 8 to call them again and they will look in to it... and she said since it's summer time NSC is backing up.... and it does take up to 30 days to get anything.
(However, I have been reading... ppl efile seem have better luck to get any movement... some ppl got the EAD card within 20 days!!!!!)
I read some ppl also did paper and after a month... they go for the efile... but I still did not hear if that would creat any problems...
I don't mind to waste the 340 if it can make my EAD processed....
I would rather have the card in my hand then check my checking account everyday to see if the check was cashed....
anyone did both paper and efile after one another and got approved????

I am planning to spend about a week or 2 in Canada, will that cause me any problems when I come back to the US? I will keep job hunting in Canada but for a job in the US as I intend to stay in the US.

Am I entitled to unemployment benefits since I have a GC?

For EB3 case, after receiving the approval for I 140, I know that we have to wait till DOL Proiority Date is current to be able to file for I485.
If we decide to receive the green card in any consulars overseas, can we just go ahead and file the I485 after getting the I140 approval? (without waiting for PD to be current)
